The Society for the Preservation and Study of American Wooden Planes
|
WelcomeWelcome to The Society for the Preservation and Study of American Wooden Planes, Web page. First, about the name . . . originally we were the Family Baldwin Association. However, that only lasted for about one weekend (last October at Browns’ Auction, Harrisburg). After ending up hoarse, from repeatedly explaining that we were not just about Baldwins, the board had little trouble in deciding that it was time to give ourselves a name that would more accurately describe what we are all about. Our MissionThe founding premise of the group is the advancement and sharing of knowledge concerning newly discovered, undocumented, and ill-documented American wooden plane makers. In addition to informing we hope to entertain and amuse. After all, if this hobby isn’t fun we might as well go to work.
